Lithium Batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are a type of battery that is commonly used in small portable electric devices such as watches, thermometers, and calculators. It is a button cell battery that is available in many shapes and sizes. The common voltage for this battery is 3 volts. Recycle these batteries at call2recycle.ca.
Nickel-Cadmium Batteries
Nickel-cadmium batteries are rechargeable batteries that are comprised of nickel oxide hydroxide and metallic cadmium. Ni-Cd batteries are rechargeable and have a consistent current of 1.2 volts. They charge quickly but also discharge quickly. These batteries are best kept in a discharged state. Learn more about recycling these batteries.
Nickel Metal Hydride
Lithium-ion batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that has a battery life of about 5 years or less. These batteries have 30 to 40% higher capacity than a regular nickel-cadmium battery. They are commonly used in cell phones, laptop computers, and other devices. Recycle these batteries at call2recycle.ca.
